Different Perspective

Time makes a habit of escaping me. It’s been 2 weeks since we were in NYC helping Gina show her Charmed Circle line at Henri Bendel’s, yet it feels like ages ago. In fact, we leave for NY again in five days and I have yet to make any preparations whatsoever. We will be going to Coterie to check out the Fall lines. It’s actually cold down here in Houston; we are all wearing our scarves and coats and I am looking beyond Spring (at the moment) and thinking about next year’s layers.

Speaking of of layers: Bendel’s. What a fun experience! Prime location. We were right in the center of the atrium. Right in front of the double doors. The double doors that just barely shielded us from 0 degree temps. That’s what it felt like, anyway. I recall, on more than one occasion, outright delirious behavior exhibited by one of us due to the cold. Mostly me. Not all. I would never have ridden on a double-decker bus in those temps. Oh, you will read more about that tomorrow. A good friend, Laura, traveled with us and it was her first time to NY. Yes, it’s true. It was so fun for me to see her experience NY for the first time. In fact, I asked her to write about it. She used to be a 9th grade Language Arts teacher and is a very gifted writer (I’m trying to launch her writing career. I will certainly host her first book signing party). I knew she would whip up something clever.

Reading her first NY experience is quite refreshing. Next month, I will be taking my 7 year old to visit for the first time and Laura’s take makes me look forward to it even more. I can’t wait to experience NY through his little boy perspective.

Her perspective tomorrow…
