The last time I saw I saw Yuri Gagarin, I was in Paris. True. It was a journey, but one of the best of my life.

It started here:

We worked hard; we had to get those things on the train!

It was a long trek and we needed nourishment:

Picnicking on the family grounds. Swear. My husband is related to Marie Antoinette. And Rob Roy. I’m related to General John J. Pershing. What the heck? Oh, and, Elizabeth Dole. Good, she’s lovely. I digress. We picnicked on the family grounds:

We made our way to the palace, and there he was. The Cosmonaut:

He was inflicted with a crater, but he was spectacular, none-the-less. The first man to ever see earth from afar. 50 years ago this week (see footage on youtube). Amazing.

After indulging in all the magnificence,

we headed back to the city.

Sidewalk cafe, Kir Royal, fashion watching galore: I’m not sure I can imagine a better way to end the day:
