We are friends, neighbors, and obsessed with all things style. Gina designs unique, hand-crafted jewelry and Jennifer practices the art of wardrobe management. It was only natural that they came together to launch a blog and style shop. Cakewalk Style Shop.

Ahhhhh.... after my Fall + Winter of Black + Greys, these colors are making me think. And wish. And plan.
However, I, like so many others, am resolved to temper myself. This would not, could not happen immediately. It will take time and careful planning. And, of course, major use of those promo codes I speak of. Like I’ve mentioned before, I try to stick to my lists. I am inspired to add more color to my Spring wish list.
Speaking of my Spring wish list, I’m keeping up with it on the sidebar. Lists + promo codes = easier dressing + stretched budget.

I can’t explain why, but as of late the thought of Santiago, Chile keeps popping into my head. I think it might be this beautiful, tree-lined street in Providencia that I’m pining for. I’m obsessed with beautiful tree-lined streets; I can not get enough of them. Providencia was my favorite area in the city. If I go back to Santiago, I will probably stay here. I was privy to a tour and fell head over heels for this little B&B. Darling little neighborhood.
I would walk, and walk, and walk. I would stroll the parks. I would pop in and out of cafes. I would eat here, again.
And, I would certainly re-experience the Santiago Culinary Tour. Liz took us to several markets to buy our fresh produce, fish, and flowers. She selected the perfect wine for our lunch. She has the most amazing flat overlooking the Parque Forestal. She cooked; I dreamed. I did, however, pitch in a little, as did my husband. Lunch was incredible.
I think I’m meant to go back?
As I’ve written before, I am a very reluctant waker-upper. It hurts. I can not speak for 30 minutes. I can’t even hold anything with my hands. The other day, my six year old asked me, “Is that the way you’re supposed to look when you’re sleepy?”. I was fixing his bed-head and I think I was still squinting. Sometimes, my wake up call is a loud, persistent beep-beep-beep. Sometimes, it’s my husband telling me over and over again that I REALLY need to wake up. And sometimes, it’s the iPod on his alarm clock (I don’t get the alarm clock because I am a sleep walker and I have been known to jack with the time in the middle of the night). The iPod is the least intrusive to my blissful slumber. All that to say, I actually had a pleasant waking-up experience a couple days ago. The song? “St. Petersburg” by Supergrass. It was a nice, easy little song to bring me back to consciousness. I think I’ll start a wake-up-call playlist on the sidebar. You know, in case you are like me in the morning.
